EPCOT's International Food and Wine Festival 2017

The 2017 International Food and Wine Festival has begun again this year at EPCOT- and it's the best one yet! Spanning an impressive 2.5 months, (August 31st-November 13th), there are more days to enjoy hundreds of unique dishes and drinks.

There are over 40 booths, including several brand new this year, all of which offer an array of food dishes, wine, and/or craft beer.

Brand new booths this year include:

Active Eats

The Almond Orchard

Coastal Eats

Earth Eats

Flavors From Fire

Light Lab

Food and Wine tip- Many booths now offer a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit for one of the dishes- a GREAT deal for those using the Dining Plan!

Enjoy exclusive food, special events, presentations, concerts, and merchandise offerings throughout the entire festival. The theme this year seems to be a mix between EPCOT's beloved Figment, and Remy, the prodigal chef rat from Pixar's Ratatouille. Merchandise includes kitchen gadgets and accessories, commemorative glasses, art prints, pins and more!

Food and Wine Tip- Annual Passholder's get exclusive discounts AND merchandise only available with your ID! Stop by the Festival Center in Future World to make sure you don't miss out on these Limited Edition items.

One of my favorite special events is the Party for the Senses. This private event is only offered for five nights throughout the Festival, and offers unique live entertainment, food options only available at the event, and my personal favorite.. a chance to chat with dozens of Disney's top chefs. Chef Axel from Citrico's and Cinderella's Royal Table often creates a unique dish at his booth, as well as Chef Phil from Citrico's and Disney's Golden Oak Residence. The pricing at this event starts at $179 per person, and goes to over $300 a person for premium seating and early entry.

Opening day at Food and Wine seemed busy, but not yet crowded, so I was able to sample a few things I was really looking forward to this year! Everything I had was absolutely amazing, and a pretty decent portion compared to year's past. I think my favorite dish so far was the Mojo Pork, but I would definitely order it all again and can't wait to try everything else!

Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette- Coastal Eats Booth- $5.50

Jamaican Beef Patty with Mango Salsa- Islands of the Caribbean Booth- $5.00

Loaded Mac 'n' Cheese with Nueske's® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Peppers and Green Onions- Active Eats Booth- $4.75

Crispy Chicken with Cornbread and Sunday Gravy- Farm Fresh Booth- $4.75

Mojo Pork with Black Beans, Cilantro Rice, and Pickled Red Onions- Islands of the Caribbean Booth- $4.50

Food and Wine tip- Keep an eye out for dietary logos next to each menu! Gluten Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian options are aplenty!

One of the most popular booths is the Brewer's Collection in Germany. This year's beer spotlight is a Pomegranate Shandy from Schofferhofer- a normal German classic. I was so excited to try something other than their normal Grapefruit and it did not disappoint!

Food and Wine tip- Go for the flight! Most 6oz pours are around $4, but try getting a flight and sampling three 4oz beers for only $9!
